Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

Built in 1928 and originally named the Portland Public Theater this 2,776 seat venue features Italian Rococo Revival architecture which was lovingly restored and reopened in 1984. The Schnitzer Concert Hall is home to the Oregon Symphony, Portland Arts & Lectures, the White Bird Dance Company, and many more local performing arts groups. Hollywood Theatre

Originally a 1500 seat venue, the Hollywood theatre was the last venue in Portland built both as a vaudeville house and as a movie theatre.

In 1975 walls were installed in the Theatre's balcony, and projection booths were installed to create three separate auditorium spaces. In addition to showing independent films, the Theatre returned to hosting live events and is now a primary location for Oregon filmmakers to show their work.

Memorial Coliseum

Located in the heart of Portland’s historic Rose Quarter the Coliseum is a 12,000 seat arena which opened in 1960 and is home to the Portland Winterhawks hockey team. Oaks Amusement Park

Opening in 1905 Oaks Park is one of the oldest continuously operating amusement parks in the U.S. The park features roller coasters, go-karts, bumper cars, a Ferris wheel and other carnival rides open on weekends in the spring and daily during the summer. Oregon Convention Center

Oregon Historical Society Museum

Founded in 1898 the museum houses over 85,000 artifacts including the Portland Penny, the penny that was flipped to decide the name of the city. The museum is home to a number of permanent exhibits including “Oregon My Oregon” and “The Battleship Oregon” as well as hosting a variety of different rotating exhibits throughout the year.  Located just a few blocks north of the Downtown Value Inn across the Park Blocks from the Portland Art Museum.

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry

Located on the east bank of the Willamette River across from downtown Portland, this facility contains a variety of hands-on exhibits covering the physical sciences, life science, earth science, technology, astronomy, and early childhood education. It also features an OMNIMAX Theater and is home to the USS Blueback submarine, used in the film “The Hunt for Red October”. 

Oregon Zoo

Formerly the Washington Park Zoo, it is located two miles southwest of Downtown Portland inside Portland's Washington Park. It includes a narrow-gauge railway that connects to the International Rose Test Garden inside the park.

Opened in 1887 after a private animal collector donated his animals to the City of Portland, the 64-acre zoo is now owned by the regional Metro government and has successful breeding programs for California Condors and Asian elephants.

PGE Park

Home to the Portland Timbers Major League Soccer team as well as the Portland State University Vikings football team PGE Park is a 20,000 seat multi-purpose stadium in the center of downtown Portland. Recently undergoing a multimillion dollar renovation the newly improved facility is host to a number of exciting sporting events, all just minutes away from the hotel.

Pittock Mansion

Built in 1909 the Pittock Mansion was constructed as the private residence of the publisher of the Oregonian newspaper Henry Pittock and his wife Georgiana. The Mansion is now a Rose City landmark which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Located at an elevation of 1000’ in the West Hills the location offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Tours of the chateau and the 46 acre estate are conducted daily.

Portland Children’s Museum

Founded in 1946 the Portland Children’s Museum is the sixth oldest children’s museum in the U.S. The 50,000 square foot facility hosts a large number of hands on kid friendly exhibits that are fun and educational. Transportation 

The Rose City is proud of its extensive public transportation network, operated by TriMet. Most locations in the Portland Metro area are within convenient reach by bus or by rail. Public transport can often be cheaper than paying for gas and parking. Information on fares, discounts for students and seniors, and an interactive Trip Planner are available at TriMet’s web site

The Downtown Value Inn is located within the TriMet Free Rail Zone. Within the Zone, which includes the Lloyd District, the Rose Quarter, and most of downtown, you are not required to pay a fare to ride on either the MAX Light Rail or Portland Streetcar —all day, every day.
